Facebook and Twitter both recently announced Ad Transparency Centers to give the general public a better idea for what type of ads organizations are running and ultimately who is paying for them.
It seems the main motivation is to curb nonethical political ads, but, as marketers, we can spin this to benefit us significantly.
Ultimately, we are now able to see what ads our competitors have run in the last 7 days. Let’s dive into it.
Facebook’s Ad Transparency Center
Navigate to a Facebook Business Page, then click ‘Info and Ads’ from the left nav bar.
From here you will be able to see every single ad the brand is running on Facebook and Instagram.
Here is the link to Coca-Cola’s Facebook ad transparency center.
From here, you can see every ad the brand is currently promoting and who they are targeting.
Twitter’s Ad Transparency Center

Similar to Facebook, you can search for any brand to see what ads they have run in the last 7 days on Twitter.
View Coca-Cola’s ads on Twitter.
The nice thing about Twitter’s Ad Transparency Center is they will actually show you engagement on the ads, so you can easily tell what ads are performing well for your competitors.
